It should be another beautiful, crisp fall morning for pickup soccer at South Row Field. There won’t be many more chances like this as we’ll suspend play when there is a hard freeze. Be there at 9 a.m. and give yourself time to warm up.

Thanks for all of the well wishes regarding my son Alexander. Just a quick update: he had 9.5 hours of surgery on Wednesday to repair the damage, and is slowly recovering at Mass General. He got out of the ICU yesterday and should be able to come home in a few days. The surgery went well, and aside from some relatively minor nerve damage he should be able to make a nearly full recovery–hopefully he’ll be back at school in another month or so. Thanks again for all of the support.

Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it; my son Alex was playing goalie in a playoff game for his high school team and was kicked in the face after diving to block a shot. He’s at MassGeneral and will need extensive surgery to repair all of the damage. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as we go through this ordeal.

Looks like the approaching storm won’t reach us until late Sunday or Monday, so we should be fine for the pickup game Sunday morning at South Row Field. Check back here for late-breaking news if you’re in doubt. See you at 9 a.m.!

Once again it looks like the weather gods are partial to our Sunday pickup game, with all of the heavier rain off to the east and only a chance of light showers in Chelmsford this morning. Please bring a white and dark shirt to Harrington Field for a 9 a.m. start.

Last Sunday we had 18 players for the pickup game at Harrington, and we’ll continue to play at Harrington Field this week. Please bring a white and dark shirt, cleats, and a water bottle, and try to arrive by 9 a.m. so we can get as much soccer in as possible. There is a possibility of showers/thunderstorms, so If the weather looks iffy on Sunday, please check the website at 8:30 a.m.–I will only post if there is a change in the plan; otherwise see you there!

This Sunday should be a glorious fall soccer day, with sunny skies and temps in the 50’s at 9 a.m. game time. We’ll be at Harrington Field, but please keep checking the website as we may be moving to South Row Field later this fall. Please bring a dark and white shirt, a water bottle, and your cleats. We look forward to welcoming some of the CYSA travel coaches who may be joining us this weekend.
