The weather looks good for tomorrow February 28. Near 50 and sunny. Let’s give it a go and play some pickup soccer at McCarthy Middle School turf field. 9am and remember to bring both a white and dark shirt. See you there.
Well, this Sunday (Jan 31) is supposed to be in the mid-40’s and sunny and the McCarthy School field is clear of snow. So, how about we play some soccer? Some of us have been playing indoor soccer and getting our butts kicked. It would be nice to have a “fun” game for a change. As usual, we meet up at 9am with a white shirt and a dark shirt. Bring a friend – all are welcome. If this weather holds up, maybe we can count this as the start of this years games. That would be a record hard to beat.
I haven’t driven by the McCarthy field, but I imagine it is covered with snow. If that is the case, I suggest we take the week off and see what next week has in store for us. Enjoy the end of your new years weekend, everyone. And if you know the field is cleared, post a comment and let us know.
Happy Holidays, everyone! I hope your Christmas holiday was nice. Now it is time to run off some of that holiday meal. It is supposed to be in the mid-40’s and cloudy on Sunday so lets keep playing. As usual, 9am start time at McCarthy Middle School artificial turf field. Bring the white shirt and a dark shirt. College kids should still be home so come on out and play. Newcomers are welcome. We had a full 11 v 11 last week.
We are so close to playing all the way into the new year! We had a lively 6 v 6 last week. This week, our hope is that some of those college youngsters will be home and want to run circles around the old guys. So, please come on out to McCarthy School field for our pickup game at 9am. Bring a dark and light shirt (or an ugly holiday sweater) and a friend. It was cold today but it should be much less windy tomorrow and warmer all around. See you there!

We had a lively 7 v 7 game last week and the weather seems to be holding out. It should be in the mid-30’s on Sunday so let’s keep playing. Last week’s game was at McCarthy Middle School turf field and that seemed to work well. Let’s play there again. You college kids that are back for the long weekend, come out for a run before heading back to school. And bring a friend. All newcomers are welcome. As usual bring a white shirt or dark shirt and water and let’s run off that turkey dinner.
So, I am hearing there is still some interest in playing our pickup game this week. However, in the interest of not totally messing up the CYSA fields, we will meet at McCarthy Middle School to play on the turf field. The weather forecast is a bit mixed so I am not sure what it will be like. So, if you feel like giving it a try, lets meet at 9am at McCarthy and we will see how it goes. I think this is the latest we have played into the fall. Nice job!
