We all know that I track the weather pretty carefully. I start by looking out my west-facing windows. That tells me what weather is coming soon. But we live in a time that there are lots of weather resources on the Internet to give me a clearer picture of what is coming than my kitchen windows can.
I can’t remember a time when so many storms — big storms — would appear when none were predicted the day before or even hours before. This Sunday may or may not be one of those days. Earlier in the week the forecast looked great. Today it looks less great.
Too much rain was a problem that I did not have on my 2023 bingo card. The last several years have technically been droughts Now we get multiple inches of rain every week and had a record-breaking storm the other day. Seeing all of the wildfires in other places, I am thinking that too much rain is the lesser of two evils.
Too much rain has ruined my garden — especially the tomatoes. Too much rain has also cost us some games this year. We can’t play on the grass fields if it is raining more than a drizzle.
It is a coin flip for Sunday morning but I am hopeful that we are going to get the game in and the storms pass us by. It is a weird year.
If the weather is conducive, we will play at Murphy with a kick-off at 8:30 AM. See you there.
